Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) reported record monthly revenue of NT$467.58 billion (approximately US$14.5 billion) for July 2026, up 44.7 percent year on year and 5.6 percent from June's NT$442.68 billion, according to the company's official monthly revenue release published on August 10, 2026.
The July figure extends a strong first half in which TSMC posted consolidated revenue of NT$2.404 trillion, a 35.6 percent increase versus the same period last year. The company now expects full-year 2026 revenue growth to exceed 40 percent in U.S. dollar terms, up from a prior forecast of above 30 percent, as reported by Digitimes.
TSMC also raised its capital expenditure guidance for 2026 to US$60-64 billion, with 70 to 80 percent allocated to advanced process nodes, a significant increase from the earlier range of US$52-56 billion.
The acceleration is driven primarily by AI chip demand. TSMC's 3nm wafer output is on track to reach 180,000 wafers per month in early Q4 2026, two to three months ahead of the original schedule, as confirmed by analyst Wedbush and industry tracker TrendForce. The previous first-half 2026 run rate was approximately 150,000 wafer starts per month, representing a 20 percent capacity increase.
In parallel, TSMC's 2nm node ramp is progressing, with monthly wafer starts expected to exceed 80,000 by early Q4 and approach 100,000 by year-end. Combined 2nm and 3nm output is projected to surpass 260,000 wafers per month in early Q4 2026.
TSMC CEO C.C. Wei stated at the company's Q2 2026 earnings call: "The demand and the supply, the gap is so big, so we are working very hard to narrow the gap."
Customers including Nvidia, Apple, Meta, and Alphabet rely on TSMC to fabricate advanced chips used in data center GPUs and custom AI accelerators. AI-related capital expenditures among major U.S. hyperscalers are projected to exceed US$725 billion in 2026.
